Next Media is behind a series of 3D news animations that are featured in Taiwan’s Apple News. While some of the animations are meant to be funny (see Tiger Woods and Tea Party Express below), most of the work is created as animated re-enactments of the news stories. “People really want to watch stuff instead of reading,” said Simon Lee, CEO of multimedia for Apple Daily. “Some people might have a hesitation about the truthfulness,” Lee said. “I debate them. Even if I write something, how true is that? We’ve been training [the animators] for two years to obtain every detail in the crime scene.” (See the article here.)
